Wednesday 19th January 2011 -
“Before there was Ellie Goulding there was Goldfrapp...
Before there was Goldfrapp there was Claudia Brücken...
Claudia is Europe's diva of electronic music whose records mark critical points of 80s, 90s and 00s art pop.”

Zang Tuum Tumb (ZTT) / SALVO present ‘Combined’ the story so far of Claudia Brücken’s life in pop, from 1984 to the present day. From the cinematic electronica of Propaganda to the dark showbiz fantasies of Act. Claudia solo, Claudia in combination with Andy Bell (Erasure), Chrome Seduction, Martin L. Gore, Andrew Poppy, Stephen Hague, Thomas Leer, Trevor Horn, Paul Humphreys (OMD), Paul Rutherford (Frankie Goes To Hollywood), and… Claudia as herself.

‘Combined’ presents eight of Claudia's classic recordings... Propaganda's hit singles (Dr Mabuse, p:Machinery, Duel), her two singles as Act (Absolutely Immune, Snobbery & Decay), her 90s solo singles (Kiss Like Ether, Absolut(e)) both produced by Pascal Gabriel (Kylie, Goldfrapp, Ladyhawke), her 2005 duet with Andy Bell (Delicious)......combined with five brand new works: Night School and Thank You – two brand new solo tracks co-written with and produced by Stephen Hague (Pet Shop Boys, New Order); This is Not America – duetting the David Bowie classic with Paul Rutherford (Frankie Goes To Hollywood); In Dreams – Roy Orbison's Blue Velvet soundtrack gem in collaboration with Andrew Poppy. On the album two tracks are included from Claudia's current band Onetwo: Sequentia (previously unreleased) and Cloud 9ine (a co-write with Depeche Mode's Martin L. Gore).

Coming to prominence as the lead vocalist in ZTT’s influential hit-making Düsseldorf combo Propaganda, Claudia Brücken was one of the more distinctive female voices of the mid-1980s (and one of the few females to front a synth-pop group). Following the implosion of Propaganda in 1986, Claudia has enjoyed a distinguished career in the arena of electronic pop and dance music, alongside a series of highly talented collaborators, including Thomas Leer (with whom she formed the cult duo Act after leaving Propaganda), Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), Paul Humphreys (OMD, Onetwo), Paul Rutherford (Frankie Goes To Hollywood) and Andy Bell (Erasure). This stylishly-packaged collection and very special LIVE show draws together the very best of Claudia’s work over the last 25 years.
